Lebron James

LeBron James is a professional basketball player who
plays for Cleveland Cavaliers. James has been nicknamed
by his fans “King James”. The King made to the covers of
Sports Illustrated and ESPN The Magazine while still in
high school. This all lead the superstar to receive
great attention. The media attention was so much that
even his high school games were available nationally on
pay-per-view and some games were even televised
nationally. |

In the 2000-01 season he
averaged 29 points and 8 rebounds and for the second time
was named Mr. Basketball and made a place for himself in the
All-USA First Team. Although his team lost in the State
Championships, but the loss did not affect his standings.
With all the expertise he declared himself for the NBA
drafts while still in high school, his petition was sent
back as according to the rules laid by NBA draft, the rule
stating that a player must finish high school to be
eligible. If he had been selected for the draft, King would
have been the youngest player in the NBA history.
Life was
not an easy for this superstar, his mother Gloria had to
face tough times to bring him up. Some of those were brought
on by the death of her mother, who passed away when LeBron
was an infant. All the tough times failed to move |

Gloria and she worked
hard to bring up her son, shielding him from poverty
and violence of the streets. Gloria raised LeBron on
her own, and to this day he goes by her last name.
He is an avid Michael Jordan fan, he had patterned
his hoops game after his idol’s. Some of his plus
points include he takes a special delight in
distributing the basketball to his teammates and
moving forward to basket the ball. |

James
also played football and usually played receiver. He scored
19 touchdowns in six games in his first year of Pee Wee
football.
When Gloria fell in bad and
withdraw LeBron from school, it was James’ coach Frankie
Walter, who gave shelter to the James and he quickly took to
his new surroundings. Walker and his wife, Pam, had three
kids. Walker also taught James a lot of factors about
passing, dribbling and the most important how to shoot with
his left hand. A major factor which helped living with
Walter was that James made friends with Frankie Jr. The two
ran with four other boys—Sian Cotton, Dru Joyce III, Willie
McGee and Romeo Travis, together all the six now formed an
strong team in the basketball court. |
