Although his team lost in the State Championships, but the loss did not affect his standings. With all the expertise he declared himself for the NBA drafts while still in high school, his petition was sent back as according to the rules laid by NBA draft, the rule stating that a player must finish high school to be eligible. If he had been selected for the draft, King would have been the youngest player in the NBA history. Life was not an easy for this superstar, his mother Gloria had to face tough times to bring him up. Some of those were brought on by the death of her mother, who passed away when LeBron was an infant. All the tough times failed to move

Gloria and she worked hard to bring up her son, shielding him from poverty and violence of the streets. Gloria raised LeBron on her own, and to this day he goes by her last name. He is an avid Michael Jordan fan, he had patterned his hoops game after his idol’s. Some of his plus points include he takes a special delight in distributing the basketball to his teammates and moving forward to basket the ball.

James also played football and usually played receiver. He scored 19 touchdowns in six games in his first year of Pee Wee football.

When Gloria fell in bad and withdraw LeBron from school, it was James’ coach Frankie Walter, who gave shelter to the James and he quickly took to his new surroundings. Walker and his wife, Pam, had three kids. Walker also taught James a lot of factors about passing, dribbling and the most important how to shoot with his left hand. A major factor which helped living with Walter was that James made friends with Frankie Jr. The two ran with four other boys—Sian Cotton, Dru Joyce III, Willie McGee and Romeo Travis, together all the six now formed an strong team in the basketball court.
